Q:Ville,what is the feeling to sing in Finland's best band ever?
Ville:For me success is when i and the guys from the band make the music we like.It doesn't matter how many records you have sold.But it's nice that people listen to our music.We're happy that you invited us to play on the Arena Muzika Festival in Bulgaria.I love travelling and getting to know new people,places and cultures.That's the good side of success.The bad comes when people start to think about money......only money.They're getting grredy.I am glad our group is not like that.
Q: Why did you choose "His Infernal Majesty" to be the name of the band?
Ville:We had a group with taht name in the 90es.We played music similar to that of "Black Sabbath" ,who were our idols.They have taken their name from a horror movie.We did the same by taking our name from a horror book.Later we dicided taht it would be better if we keep only the initials.We didn't want people to think we were Satan worshippers or non-believers.Besides,abbreviated,the name is easier to remember and pronounce.
Q:Why does the band have more fans among girls taht among boys?Does that have something to do with your male charm?
Ville:I prefer to think it's because of the music.In 80's all the girls were crazy about Bon Jovi and the guys hated him,but they bought the albums because it was a way to crunch a girlfriend.
Q:Do you like that most people think HIM is one person?
Ville:It's like that from the very beginning...because i write all the lyrics,i suppose.And the other guys don't like the interviews and shooting for TV.I speak for the other members.That confuses the people.
Q:Aren't the other guys jealous?
Ville:No,we have been friends since we were kids at school.They just don't like publicity.
Q:In the beginning,when you were building the conception of the band you wanted your music to bear the mood of David Lynch's movies.What is the conception you are searching for for the next album?
Ville: It will be much harder compared to the last 3 albums ,but it will still be melodious.What we do carries the spirit of the traditional Finnish music.And it's very malancholic.
Q:What's the strangest band you have ever been on the stage with?
Ville:Once we played with one Finnish band.They were non-stop drunk and they were falling and yelling......wild,you know.Together with them on the stage tere were girls dresses in latex' suits' and high heels.......The scene was absurd.
Q:Is there something,you don't like about show business ?
Ville:It's a shitty branch.Everybody's mercantile and every other bum tries to tell you how exactly to work.
Q:Do you think there are still nice bands,or it's all a matter of good producers' work now?
Ville:Well,there has always been "production" of pop-idils,but that's not so bad.I personally like Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue.
